1. acceptance of terms
by accessing or using hostie (“the service”), you agree to be bound by these terms of service. if you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service. we reserve the right to update these terms at any time, and continued use constitutes acceptance.
2. service status & performance disclaimer
hostie.im is currently operated as an experimental alpha sandbox environment for developer testing, scratchpad file sharing, and temporary data transit. the services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. although we strive to perform well, we cannot guarantee any specific network speeds, download/upload bandwidth, uptime, or availability. performance may fluctuate severely based on system load, network congestion, or upstream infrastructure limitations. by using this service, you acknowledge that slow delivery or temporary service interruptions are an inherent risk of this alpha environment and do not constitute a breach of service.
3. absolute limitation of liability & no data retention guarantees
hostie.im does not provide data durability, persistent backups, or data preservation guarantees. under no circumstances should hostie.im be used to store critical, sensitive, production, or irreplaceable data. in the event of a hardware failure, server migration, upstream service termination, or software corruption, your files may be permanently and instantly destroyed without notice. to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, hostie.im (and its operators) shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the loss, corruption, or deletion of any data hosted on our infrastructure. you host files entirely at your own risk.
4. automated storage management & expiration
to maintain storage health, hostie.im enforces strict automated retention policies. all uploaded data is treated as temporary. unless otherwise explicitly specified by a custom paid tier, files are subject to automated deletion timers and may be permanently scrubbed from our systems after 30 days from the initial upload timestamp.
5. acceptable use
you agree not to use the service to: upload, store, or share content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes upon the rights of others; distribute malware, viruses, or other harmful software; attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service or its systems; use the service for spam, phishing, or other abusive purposes; resell or redistribute the service without our written consent.
6. dmca and takedown
we strictly comply with applicable copyright laws. if you believe content hosted on our service infringes your copyright, please refer to our notice and takedown page for the procedure to submit a complaint, we will respond to valid takedown requests promptly in accordance with the law.
7. governing law
these terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the united kingdom, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
8. report abuse button
the report button works as following: if the report abuse button has been clicked, it promptly sends an email to the hostie team, if the same file has had it's report abuse button clicked 3 times, the file is immediately suspended and put under review, it will then remain under review until the hostie team has confirmed whether or whether not it violates terms of service. this is to ensure that hostie strictly complies with applicable laws, and remains proactive in removing content that violates our terms of service. additionally if you would like to use the report abuse button, you must be logged in, this is to prevent mass reporting and misuse of the button.
